Q1) Does my child need to have any prior backpacking, or outdoor experience?
Not at all! Our camps do not require any prior knowledge or experience in hiking, camping, or pottery. However, it does make it easier on the participants if they enjoy being outdoors or are at least open to it. We do recommend getting a good-fitting backpacking backpack for the backpacking camp. Over the course of the camps, participants will learn everything they need to know (and then some)
Q2) What are your Electronics Policies?
We ask that phones and other electronics besides cameras or a watch to be submitted on Day 1 (please no smartwatches). We ask this for a multitude of reasons, the first being that being in the outdoors and surrounded by nature, we have discovered that most elements do not mix well with our phones or other electronics. Staff will have their phones and take photos although we try and be as present as possible meaning we typically do not use our phones at camp when not needed. As we like to say let’s unplug and connect together!
Q3) Will I be able to contact my child?
Not at all times. But in case of emergency, you can contact your kid through the supervisor.
Q4) What will the accommodation be like?
Kids will stay in a premium cottage accommodation, named tiger estate, in the midst of Rishikesh mountains.
Q5) What does the menu look like on your trek?
We provide you with healthy, nutritious food, both veg and non-veg, thrice a day on your trek. There will be snacks in between too, and sometimes pocket snacks for the trail. You’ll be served mostly North Indian vegetarian food coming to your meals. So your typical meal will include roti (Indian flatbread), sabzi (vegetable), rice and dal (lentils). You’ll also find familiar food like khichdi, rajma chawal, pulao, pancakes and sandwiches. There will be copious amounts of hot chai and soup, of course!
Q6) What are the transportation facilities?
Participants will have to come to the property by themselves. If you wish for us to arrange Rishikesh bus stand pickup & drop, respective charge must be paid.
Q7) Is it going to be very difficult?
Though you kids must be fit, the activities conducted at the camp will only take manageable amount of effort. Hence, it is not very difficult but yes, a little challenging.
Q8) Are girls and boys separated?
Girls and boys are accommodated in separate rooms on sharing basis. However, the program is completely mixed.
Q9) Are camp t-shirts provided?
Yes. Each child’s first registration of the camp includes a T-shirt. It can be picked up on the first day of camp.
Q10) Can the parent join their kid for the program?
We’re afraid, it can’t be done. This is a Kids’ specific program. Kids need to come alone or be dropped at the Camp site. So that they can indulge into the activities and plan completely with no distraction.
Q11) What do I need to pack for my Kid?
No technical equipment are required, just your basic clothing. Please refer to the brochure to read the complete list of things to pack.
Q12) How well is the staff?
Everyone making this program possible is a true professional. Trained cooks, certified mountaineers and experienced Instructors, and army retired officers will be there to make the whole plan go as smooth as possible.
