OVERVIEW
If you’re seeking an adventure that offers two incredible hikes in one trip, the Mangankot trek in Himachal Pradesh is the perfect destination. This lesser-known hiking trail takes you through some of the most beautiful spots in Kullu, including the Mangankot summit and the Majhach frozen lake.
The Mangankot summit, a unique formation on the old Manali mountain, is visible from the left bank of Manali. The trail follows the Manalsu Nallah, winding through thick pine and deodar forests. With its alluring landscape, the ascent to Mangankot is moderately challenging.
However, before tackling the Mangankot climb, you’ll hike to one of Manali’s hidden gems, the Majhach frozen lake. Located in the Majhach village of Manali Tehsil, this lake is one of the region’s unexplored wonders. In winter, it freezes and is covered with snow, offering a stunning view and serene atmosphere. In summer, it is equally mesmerizing, showcasing its divine natural beauty and peaceful surroundings.
The Mangankot trek, with a detour to the Majhach frozen lake, is an exclusive journey that combines the best of both worlds. It’s perfect for those looking to explore unreal landscapes while also experiencing the thrill of an adventurous trek.
