Mount Shitidhar, located in the beautiful Indian state of Himachal Pradesh is an excellent option for beginners who want to embark on the journey of mountaineering. The climb offers stunning panoramic views of Hanuman Tibba in the west and Deo Tibba, Indrasan, and other mountains of Dhauladhar and Pir Panjal Range in the east.
To reach the summit of Shitidhar, also known as White Peak, you trek through the beautiful meadows of Bakarthach and Dhundi, overlooking the Beas Kund Glacier, the originating point of the Beas River. While being fit and healthy, one also needs to have the basic knowledge of iceaxe, crampons, ropeup technique, etc. Nevertheless, we’ll give you a short training before the technical ascent. So, need not worry. A lot of trekkers, having high altitude experience, opt for this peak as an intro climb to mountaineering.

PREPARATION GUIDE
- Have Previous Trekking/Mountaineering Experience.
- Weight train the body. Walk uphill or stairs steps with a weighted back pack.
- Strength training for the lower body and core. Do planks, crunches and cycling.
- Climbing Friendship peak requires a fit body and a conscious mind. One needs to be exercising regularly for the past couple of months.
- Any high altitude trek requires you to build a good amount of cardiovascular endurance. Jogging is the best exercise to increase your stamina.
- You need strong legs to success fully finish a high altitude trek. Squats are the best way to build leg strength quickly. Especially your thighs, glutes and knees.
