Patalsu Peak is a four-day Himalayan trekking experience located above Solang Valley near Manali, Himachal Pradesh. Reaching approximately 4,200 m, the trek offers a rewarding summit attempt, scenic mountain trails and panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan ranges.
The route passes through forested sections, open meadows and high-altitude terrain before reaching Shagadugh, which serves as the campsite for the trek. An acclimatization hike on the second day helps participants prepare for the summit attempt on Day 3.
The summit day involves a sustained ascent followed by a descent to camp. Participants should be reasonably fit, comfortable walking uphill for several hours and prepared for changing mountain weather.
Patalsu Peak is a good introduction to high-altitude trekking for those looking to build experience before attempting longer or more demanding mountain objectives. Although advanced technical climbing experience is not generally required for the regular itinerary, the difficulty can vary with weather, trail conditions and snow.
This is the regular four-day Patalsu Peak trek. Participants specifically looking for extensive snow-skills training should refer to our separate Patalsu Peak Winter Training programme.

Mountain trekking requires patience, determination and adaptability. Be prepared for changing weather, physically demanding sections and possible changes to the itinerary. Reaching the summit depends on weather, route conditions and the group’s safety.
Begin your training several weeks before departure, depending on your existing fitness level. Consistent preparation is more beneficial than intense exercise immediately before the trek.
