OVERVIEW
The Dhauladhar mountain range is a part of the Himalayan mountain chain that runs from Chamba, Kangra to Mandi in Himachal Pradesh. It is characterized by its rugged topography, with steep Rocky Mountains and sheer slopes. While the higher altitudes are covered in snow and large rocks, the lower ranges are teeming with diverse flora and fauna, making it a popular destination for mountain enthusiasts.
The state of Himachal Pradesh is home to numerous lakes, but the seven high-altitude lakes nestled in the Dhauladhar ranges are the most captivating. These lakes include Nag Dal Lake, Lam Dal Lake, Kali Kund, Kareri Lake, Chanderkoop Lake (also known as Moon Lake), Sukh Dal, and Dam Ghodi Dal. These lakes are steeped in mythology and are believed to be sacred by the locals, who frequently undertake pilgrimages to visit them.
Dhauladhar 7 Lakes trek is a challenging yet rewarding experience that takes you through steep terrain and extreme rocky mountains, with the promise of breathtaking views at every turn. The trek crosses several streams, through lush green meadows and thick forests home to numerous Himalayan birds and animal species. Join us on this journey of a lifetime as we explore the Dhauladhar mountain ranges and discover the hidden gems of this remote corner of India.
