overview

The Shinkun West Expedition is a serious 6000-metre Himalayan climb, designed for mountaineers seeking advanced altitude exposure and technical terrain. Standing at 6,153 metres, Shinkun West demands strong preparation, prior experience, and disciplined execution.

The expedition involves glacier travel, snow and ice slopes, exposed ridges, and high camps in a harsh alpine environment. As the climb progresses, conditions become increasingly unforgiving — colder temperatures, thinner air, and long summit pushes test both physical capacity and mental resilience.

Summit day is intense and demanding, requiring efficient movement on snow and ice, confidence with mountaineering equipment, and the ability to perform under sustained altitude stress. Weather windows are limited, and decisions must be made carefully.

Shinkun West is not a beginner expedition. It is meant for climbers who already have solid high-altitude and glacier experience and are looking to push into more serious expedition territory.

Note: Prices mentioned are applicable for Indian passport holders. For foreign passport holders, the cost may vary. Please connect with the Boots & Crampons team for clarity.
Note: An indemnity document will be shared before the expedition. Signing it is mandatory.
